Hello Everyone,
As we mentioned at our Annual Christmas Dinner, it’s time to think about playing euchre!
The Dalewood Women’s Section is holding a fun afternoon of Progressive Euchre on Sunday, January 28th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm in the upper hall at Dalewood.
Everyone is welcome – bring a friend. Watch for the Google Doc sign up sheet later this week.
Cost is $20.00 which will cover prizes and snacks. Doors open at 11:15 with registration and bar open at 11:30 and play starts at 12 sharp.
You do not require a partner as this will be organized on the day, and your playing partner also changes as the afternoon progresses.
There is limited space, so please sign up as soon as possible to guarantee your spot at a table. The sign up deadline is January 24th at noon.
If you have any questions, please email Sue Morrow at sumorrow@cogeco.ca

2023 Christmas Dinner
It was a great evening at Dalewood with our Women's Section celebrating the Christmas season together. Jen put on her usual delicious Christmas spread. Ham, turkey, all the fixings and loads of desserts!!
Do any of these things belong to you? Sandi and Kevin found them in lockers in the women's locker room at the club. If you recognize these items as yours, please contact Kevin.
Once again Sandi is collecting SOCKS FOR JORDAN through Jordan's grandmother, Marlene Randall.
We will be able to bring them to Sandi on Dec 8th at our Christmas dinner. If you aren't able to attend the dinner, but would like to donate, contact Sandi.
All new socks that are donated in the Cobourg area stay here and are separated into women's, men's and children's socks and are distributed to The Salvation Army, Transition House and Cornerstone.
PS: Look for the google doc to sign up for dinner on Nov 20th.
Subject: Thank you for the Beautiful Flowers
Dear Sue,
Thank you for sending such a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The timing was perfect as I just got home from the hospital after chemotherapy treatment.
When I was first diagnosed with cancer someone asked me what did I realize. I answered very quickly that I had so many wonderful friends and family members who were there for me. My Dalewood lady golfer friends are certainly in that group and I think of you all often.
Just a quick update on my progress. I was on a clinical trial drug only available in the USA for 5 months and it did a nice job shrinking the main turmour but then unfortunately stopped working in September. I have now completed 3 of the 4 main chemotherapy/target medication treatments by infusion. I will get scans done in a few weeks and hopefully it will show that the chemotherapy is working. I will move onto a maintenance infusion every 3 weeks.
I miss you all. Have a great winter and Dennis and I are hoping we will be back in Canada and at Dalewood in the spring.
Janet
